"NIP AND TUCK " FOR PREVENTATIVE SUSTAINABLE MAINTENANCE OF SMALL CHANNELS
Each of the posters will explain the process involved in being able to "nip" & "tuck" sand ridges using good up to date marine surveys. Shown in a way to understand we do not want to understate the marine survey complexities involved.
We really hope to become very, very skilled at "sand bank surgery" and have no illusions about the time and effort that it will take to ensure that what we plan to do, then exercise to do -will be promptly done as planned with good recorded 3d bathymetry being available "on call" from the craft to prove Quality Assurance for tasks approved to do.
Doing constant surveys on "spurs" of sand shoaling will be important to be able to pre-empt serious difficulties occuring and acting in a way that is " preventative maintenance". Tasks of this nature in navigation channels only require an approved work plan involving a mandantory "review of environmental effects".
Soon all information published and relied upon for our strategy and planning will be available for download from this site.
